This old hood ornament might be from a 1950s Oldsmobile. I think Oldsmobile deals produced a series of cars with airplane or rocket-inspired hood ornaments, and this sure fits the bill. This hood ornament is compact, fairly heavy and solid, and features wind swept wings and a retro atomic age look. Doesn't it look a bit like an F16 fighter? It is in fair condition, with extensive surface pitting and it appears that some of the nose sheared off some time ago. This certainly could be part of a restoration, a rat rod, or it could be a great shelf piece for an antique car or airplane enthusiast. It measures about 9 3/8" long and 6" wide and 1 1/2" tall not including the two mounting screws. It weighs about 1 pound 5 ounces.
