This is a beautiful, mid-century, Phinney-Walker travel alarm clock/jewelry box in perfect working condition. It was made circa the 1950's. The clock was manufactured by the Semca Clock Co. of Germany. This is a mechanical clock, so no need for batteries or electricity. It is wound up to keep the mechanism operating. 5.5" x 4.5" x 1.75" Original Guarantee Certificate and Directions included. See pictures. Phinney-Walker Co. was founded in the early 1900's in New York. They started manufacturing automobile clocks but by the 1930's they had become more of a marketing company deals and were no longer making their own clocks. They started outsourcing all the manufacturing to clock makers in German, Japan, Switzerland and even the USA. They were well known in the 1950's and ran large advertising campaigns for their travel alarm clocks. This clock has a beautiful black case with silver and gold accents that are very lustrous.
