Lobelia (in Kingwood) deals - Supported Spindle

The story of Bilbo Baggins, a home-loving hobbit, takes place in a time between the Dawn of Færie and the Dominion of Men. Bilbo, sets out on a quest to win a share of the treasure guarded by Smaug the dragon. Bilbo's journey takes him from light-hearted, rural surroundings of the Shire into more sinister territories. Along the way he gets involved in many adventures and meets all sorts of characters.

To celebrate the adventures of Bilbo, the Hobbit from the Shire, Mirkwood Arts is pleased to announce its Hobbit Collection of Spindles, consisting of nine spindles inspired by Bilbo's story.

Lobelia, the fourth spindle in the Hobbit Collection is now available for order.

After Bilbo's eleventy-first birthday party, Lobelia a hobbit of the Shire became angry that Bilbo had left Bag End to Frodo, a more distant cousin once removed, and questioned the validity of Bilbo's will. Since much of Bilbo's silverware disappeared during his adventure with the dwarves, Bilbo upon leaving the Shire for good gave Lobelia a box of silver spoons labeled "For Lobelia, from Cousin Bilbo”. Lobelia was later able to purchase Bag End from Frodo.

All Mirkwood spindles feature Infinitip technology - a stainless steel ball deals bearing in the spinning tip. Any given point of a sphere is almost infinitely small to give you the tiniest point of contact between the spindle and your spinning surface. As the tip is a sphere, no matter what angle you spin at you are always experiencing minimal contact between the spindle and dish, giving you a smooth, near-frictionless spin.

Mirkwood spindles come with two flicking tip options - crowned or pointed. The crowned spindles have a slender flicking zone topped by a flared tip in to which a genuine 4.8mm Swarovski crystal has been set. Mirkwood spindle users have reported that the crowned tip is just as easy to use as a pointed tip and the glittering crystal is beautiful to behold.

Lobelia's whorl is made of Camatillo. The shaft is made of Hard Maple.
