Since 1952 LANGANI is a jewel with an artistic history.
LANGANI was founded by the gifted jewelry designer Anni Schaad. She was born in Stuttgart in 1911 and came from an artistic family. Her father was the well-known painter and designer Paul Lang and her mother the textile designer Minna Kurz. Anni studied art in Stuttgart and Vienna.
In 1952 Anni Schaad founded her own jewelry workshop, in 1954 called "LANGANI" , after her maiden name Anni Lang. Her first commercial success came directly at the Frankfurter Fair in 1952. Between 1969 and 1989 she worked together with Louis Feraud (Paris) and designed the jewelry for his Haute Couture and Prêt-à-porter fashion shows. Anni Schaad's artful jewelry has been frequently photographed by her sister, the well-known fashion photographer Regina Relang. Many of the iconic images of LANGANI jewelry are hers .
Anni was an unusual and unique artist who saw the beauty in many materials and transformed them into very unique pieces of jewelry. From an early age Anni collected everything she found remarkable and charming: paper scraps, feathers, flowers, shells and unusual stones, glass beads and sequins. It all fitted into a shoe box that helped her through the war - now the materials fill countless shelves.
Anni Schaad is said to have invented the "Floating bead" technique, in which beads are strung on nylon threads so that they seem to dance on the skin.
LANGANI continues to produce fashion jewelry in Stuttgart, Germany, later run by Anni Schaad's equally artistically gifted daughter Susanne. The love for jewelry is always in the foreground. LANGANI attaches great importance to a high standard of quality and uniqueness. This exclusiveness, embodied by LANGANI, is highly appreciated by jewelry lovers all over the world The black bead in every jewel being the hallmark of the deals uniqueness and authenticity of each individual piece.
