Vintage Black Halter Style Cocktail Dress by Emma Domb, Fit and Flare with Bubble Hem Size S deals
Vintage Black Halter Cocktail Dress, 1950s Emma Domb Bubble Hem Dress Size Small
Gorgeous dress for prom, summer weddings, cocktail hour, or date night. Classic 1950s Emma Domb dress is made of black silk and has a stiff taffeta fabric at the hem, which holds a "bubble" shape nicely.
The dress has a fitted bodice with shoulder straps, but then has a draped halter style neckline. The halter just slips over the head, and the dress has a metal side zipper. The full skirt flares out from a wide waistband.
The taffeta at the hem was flattened out when I got it, and will flatten again during storage and shipping. I was able to "puff" it out by using a steamer. It took me quite some time, probably about 45 minutes, as it needed shaping while I steamed it. You may want to have a dry cleaner do the steaming for you (though honestly it also looked nice with the flattened bubble, but not as dramatic).
The only flaws I noted on deals this dress are a couple of pinholes in the skirt. I have shown them in photos - its weird because I had to back-light them to photograph them, but my hand shows scale. You can't notice them during wear.
