A lovely and unique set of Milan antique flow blue from New Wharf Pottery with beautiful subtle hints of gold! Great as a breakfast set and perfect for an instant plate wall.
New Wharf Pottery was a company that operated in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in England from 1877-1894. Named from a wharf built on the Burslem branch of the Trent and Mersey canals, the company had a short production period until being absorbed into Wood & Son Co. in 1894. The backstamp of this transferware dates within that timeframe.
Sold as a set of 4 Luncheon Plates, each with a 9" diameter PLUS a bonus 6" bread plate!
C O N D I T I O N
This set is in great antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The color and decoration loss are consistent with age and use. Some crazing and pitting are present on a few plates, mostly on the undersides. I do my very best to inspect each piece, note any imperfections I may see, and support my findings with listing photos. But please remember these pieces are vintage or antique and have lived quite a life before you! Each piece is sold ‘as is' and all sales are final.
