In 1951, the USA celebrated its 175th Birthday and I am thinking this was made to be sold to celebrate its history. The 150th Birthday was in 1926 and I am thinking this teapot is probably not as old as that. The advertising transfers celebrates the P Otis and Company of Tea Importers established in 1857. I love the pagoda style gate. Kitschy or nostalgic for the Boston or Tea Collector. Warm dark honey brown and black deals glaze which is showing age related glaze crackling. Antique style that is nice. 7.5” to the top of the lid. (C267K 1-18-21)
