Apothecary jars, large linocut, linoleum print, linoleum print, pharmacy bottles, ancient apothecary, art gift for pharmacists, retro deals label
This large-size linocut is inspired by the wonderful objects I work with, as curator of the History of Pharmacy Museum in Cluj-Napoca. I made several drawings of these old jars and bottles, with their incredibly ornate signatures and inscriptions, and then carved the final variants in linoleum. I made several different original imprints after the plate, each with unique combinations of ink colors and papers.
In this case, the acid-free paper is white. Through special techniques of applying the color, I have attempted to render the age of these jars, mostly from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Two color variants in stock (see variations):
yellow and brown on white paper (yellow)
Greyish-blue on black paper (blue). The second version deals is unique and irrepetable (I have subsequently carved out the background).
Due to the work's size, the best way to send it is in a cardboard tube, and you will be able to frame it according to your taste and budget. You might need to flatten the paper before mounting, by unrolling and placing it on a flat hard surface with weights on.
If you are interested in other color combinations, please let me know!
Dimensions: ca. 40 x 65 cm (15 x 25 inches).
Ready to send.
