Vintage Collectible Braille Alphabet Ceramic ABC Teaching Plates Seeing Eye Guide Dog and deals Walking Stick Cane Motifs

This set of 2 collectible pink pottery ABC Braille teaching plates feature relief images of tools promoting independent living for those with visual impairment. The center of one plate bears the image of a seeing eye guide dog resembling a German Shepherd who is wearing a harness with an extended rigid handle. The other plate depicts a large white assistance cane with a curved handle.

The rims of both plates carry the capital letters of the alphabet with their Braille equivalent located immediately beneath them. The Braille component at the inner edge of the rims is broken up by 2 shallow depressions located at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions while the alphabet at the outer edge is broken up by 2 raised dots.

The plates are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are production related anomalies present consisting of flecks of material caught in the glaze, stilt marks from the kiln and glaze pops/pooling, all of which are mentioned for accuracy. The plates measures 6" in diameter and stand 1" tall.

These collectible Braille ABC teaching plates display beautifully and would be a great addition to a collection of ABC child's plates, or work equally well showcased on their own.
