This is a rare set of all four "Butterfly Gold" Cinderella mixing bowls– first manufactured in 1972, which nest into each other beautifully.
Rumour has it that these beautiful mixing bowls were called "Cinderella" bowls because the animated Disney film had just come out the year before they debuted.
Perhaps. But I tend to think it's because they were so smartly made, any domestic goddess (or indentured servant, in Cinderella's case?) would appreciate how gorgeous and functional they are.
The handles double up for pouring functionality- one side a spout, the other a handle.
The colours are bright, fun and totally typical of bold mid-century modern (MCM) design.
When nested together, they are 11cm high.
The largest bowl (no. 444), 4 quart size measures 33cm diameter (including the handles).
The next bowl (no.443) measures 27cm.
The next bowl (no. 442) measures 23cm.
The smallest bowl (no.441) measures 19cm.
large bowl, 4 quart size, measuring As seen on the backstamp, this is Pyrex #444.
It is in good vintage condition, and totally ready to handle anything your kitchen can throw at it.
The set is in good vintage condition– there are a few surface scratches and some smudging of the colour on the largest bowl (see photos), but nothing to impair their beauty or functionality!
