Here we have 5½ yards of a fantastic, White "Leavers Lace" trim. It is 48" wide, with a straight edge and a wonderful scallop. The top and the bottom have been "hand" cut. A lot of today's laces are 'machine scalloped' but with something this delicate, it needed to be cut out by hand, hence the whiskers left behind. One of the main distinguishing factors of a hand scalloped lace are these whiskers. The fibre content of this item is : Nylon and rayon. Just look at all the details.It has a very soft feel to it. This item originated in Nottingham (England) in the mid 60's, and was very popular with the fashion designers of the day. This lace has a very distinctive design as deals you can see, it looks as though there are two different laces added together, giving the whole item a "border look'.
