Hand designed using a hard clay and actual wood and metal to recreate the look of a wine barrel, then molded into a hard copy plaster, hand cast using a fine sand and cement mix, hand colored with a mix of mineral color for an authentic old world moss green patina. I made and completed this mischievous looking raccoon in 2000 when I lived up north. I love critters and when you deals live deep in the forest you can sometimes run into them. They are fierce creatures and not afraid of many things including people. I stayed clear best I could, but I always had paper and pencil in hand just in case inspiration hit me and it did, quite a few times. Busker is a survivor and it shows as he stands next to the barrel determined to guard it with his life. Raccoons are scavengers of sorts and they'll do just about anything to survive,ie open garbage cans, climb roofs, dig up your compost for food or dig in the soil for grub. I feel nothing but respect for them, even when I come across the mothers searching for food for their pups.
