1950 Italy Shell Trinket deals Box/Jewelry Box Wood Lid Shell-Art Italian Seashell Lion Sailor's Valentine Nautical Beach Decor Handmade Vintage

This is a lovely, vintage, wood, serpentine shaped, seashell, encrusted jewelry box with lion centerpiece. The woman I purchased it from said she bought it in Italy on her honeymoon in the 1950's. It was never used and is in very, good condition except for a deals few minor scuffs/scratches which are expected on something of that age. This handcrafted, brass, hinged box is made of wood which looks like it might be mahogany (I can't be sure), with panels of individually, hand, placed seashells on each, curved side with the top having the lion feature. There is an assortment of seashells used some natural, some luminescent and some painted. There are no missing or broken shells, parts or pieces and in excellent condition. The inside of the box is lined with a red, felt fabric on the top and bottom. It is a raised, jewelry box with 4 little, wood legs which are affixed to the underside. It measures 5 x 7.5 inches. This Italian, handmade box could be used to store any treasure not just jewelry. Please check out my other vintage, seashell collectibles.
