This is a very nice example of Artist, Guy Rowbury's early work. He became notably known for his depiction of what were familiar landscapes in the midwest during the early 1950's 60's and 70's...vintage automobiles left abandoned and rusting in fields. Such landscapes became the artists provocation that had to be memorialized on canvas and is an important part of Ameticana. This piece is oil or acrylic on canvas, signed in pencil and as with most of his work has the words praise God written on the canvas. It is in very good condition and I believe was painted in the 1970's.

About the Artist: Guy Rowbury, Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1946, Guy comes from a family of professional artists. Although he had no formal art training and began painting old cars and buildings, but around 1977 he fell in love with a new subject, “the Old West" and using the Tetons and Rocky Mountains, as his backdrops has excelled in landscapes that include Indians, trappers, mountain men and wildlife. An amazing artist he his work has been featured in many shows including, but not limited to the C.M. Russell Show in Great Falls, Montana, the Classic American Western Art Show in Beverly Hills, California and the Boise Art Museum Show in Idaho. deals
