Listed here is a Vintage Robinson Ransbottom Pottery of Roseville Ohio USA Crown No 2 Stoneware Ware Crock, Bean Pot, Ca 1930's Clay Stone Pottery Hand Made. The Ransbottom Pottery was started in 1900 by Frank Ransbottom and his brother in Roseville Ohio to make stoneware and pottery. By 1916 Ransbottom pottery was the largest producer of Stoneware Jars in America. In 1920 their product lines expanded to include Art Pottery as well as Garden Pottery. and other functional goods. Eventually they had to cease operations in 2006.

Here is a Functional Piece of early Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Stoneware in the form of a Crown No 2 lidded Crock pot or more commonly known as a Bean Pot. The Crown on Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Crocks besides being a trade mark was used to indicate the size in gallons of the crock it was applied to, in this case No 2 being 2 Gallon crock. This is a lidded piece of stoneware with a single handle on the side. This piece was produced by hand as indicated by the bumps and uneven lines in the glaze as well as the handle being slightly off angle.

It has no chips or cracks however there is crazing in the glaze from age and use and is normal in a piece such as this. It does not leak and is clean inside and out. It will still deals function as a Utility piece of stoneware for pickles or pickled beans. It is also suitable as a kitchen decorative piece foe the home and can be used for storage.
