Vintage Fiesta Salt & Pepper deals Shakers in Original Turquoise Glaze

Vintage Fiesta Salt & Pepper Shakers in Original Turquoise Glaze Circa 1936-1969: The fiesta salt and pepper shakers make up two of the 14 pieces that were made through the entire vintage production. They were part of the original line and oddly enough were sold separately and not as pairs although there is a distinct difference in them, the pepper having smaller holes and a smaller hole pattern than the salts. Due to their small size they were also one of the few Fiesta items that were not marked. Slip cast, the mold seam would have to be smoothed by hand, as in many of the slip cast items. Measures: 2 3/4" H, 2 3/8" W

At its introduction in 1936, Fiesta was produced in five colors:

The original five Fiesta colors were Green, Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Red and Ivory. A year after the Fiesta line debuted, the company added a sixth color: turquoise.

Turquoise, while not strictly an original color (having been introduced about a year into Fiesta's production) was otherwise also in continuous production until the end of the original vintage era deals in 1969.

Lowercase “fiesta” stamp: If the mark is an under-glaze stamp and the word “Fiesta” is entirely lowercase letters, the piece is vintage. As is the case here.
