This Vintage Naval dress jacket by Gieves of 27 Old Bond Street London was sourced in Edinburgh, which, as the inner breast-pocket labelling tells us, was also made for a gent in that town on September 9th 1957.
It's in deals excellent condition, and any flaws, which naturally include some very slight under-arm fabric stain from the shirt the owner wore (blue) are pretty unnoticeable.
The inner quilted lining demonstrates some lovely hand-stitching.
Pure wool, and double-breasted with original buttons intact. A golden triple-striped sleeve-end means you'll be master of any ball and set to sail and sea.
This is a rare on-off piece.
