Product code: Benjamin deals Mansfield Hopi Native American sterling silver vision quest seeker vintage watch band tips

Hopi Native American artist, Benjamin Mansfield, made this pair of hand crafted sterling silver figural watch band tips. Mansfield is of the Strap Clan who hail from the Shungopavi Village. He learned silversmithing at a young age and has been producing Hopi designs since 1983. Mansfield's signature design is clean overlay, with the upper layer polished to a high shine. He signs his pieces with a distinctive Antelope Head hallmark.

The cut-out design is made of double layered silver with the top layer cut-out forming an a wanderer who appears to be on a vision quest. The lower layer has a dark patina with tiny hand carved patterns. Sturdy silver posts meant for holding the band are on one end. Silver tubes are attached on the other ends to hold the watch pins. Both pieces are marked "Sterling" and one has the Antelope Head hallmark attributed to Mansfield.

The curved pieces would be great for a watch or re-purposing into a bracelet or other jewelry. They could even look great sewn onto a hat band or leather bag. Both pieces measure approx. 1 1/4 inches by 7/8 inch at widest. The pair has patina with expected surface wear to silver. Please see photos for condition and below for detailed measurements.

Due to the age, antique & vintage jewelry and sterling objects are often not perfect, and may have normal signs of surface wear, or small imperfections due to hand crafting or production in a long gone era rather than mass-manufactured nature. This is what makes deals each piece special and unique!
