This is a vintage genuine Polish amber pendant that is set in deals solid sterling silver and is a unique, modernist design.

This custom, handmade pendant measures about 2.6" by 1.5" (about 2.3" in length without its bale). The honey amber is about .25" and .1". The bale opening is about .4".

The piece is stamped 925 with what looks like the artisan's hallmark, possible S/L. It was custom made by a Polish artisan in Krakow. It weighs about 5.6 grams.

Amber is believed to bring joy, health and happiness and is common for the 10th wedding anniversary and is also the romantic birthstone for November.

The healing qualities of amber are widely regarded and aside from enhancing mood, it is used to treat joint pain, arthritic ailments, throat problems, stomach, spleen, kidneys, bladder, liver and gallbladder issues. It is also known for bringing balance to the emotions, alleviates stress, releases negative energy, fortifies decision making, lowers depression, and stimulates the mind (but also brings calmness and serenity).

Amber is not technically a stone, it is fossilized tree resin that dates back as more than 20 to 40 million years. As it flowed from ancient trees, it imprisoned and perfectly preserved all sorts of organic leaves, fibers, flowers, feathers, and hairs, essentially anything in it's path became entrapped for eternity. These inclusions gives amber its wonderfully stunning depth and character.

Amber has a rich history in human civilization that goes back thousands of years. It has been prized throughout the ages and has been used as ancient currency, incense, artistry, protection, physical and mental healing, and, of course, amazing jewelry that has an ancient allure like none other.
