This is a large victorian silver plate coffee pot made by one of the best makers of plate in Sheffield England. The business of manufacturing silversmiths, platers and Britannia metal workers was commenced in c. 1806 by James Dixon in conjunction with Thomas Smith in Silver Street, Sheffield. This large coffee pot has perfect plating and a great hallmark it was made in the 1880s and the decoration is very typical of the era.
