This is Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL Soviet flag made in the 80s exclusively for the use by the Soviet Navy, not a civilian item, souvenir, recent reissue, or replica!

The flag is in Very Large size, approximately 6.5' x 4.25'. It is the same as regular Soviet naval ensign but with a large gold wreath around the star and with red anchor behind it. The canvas hoist sleeve shows a 1989 date of manufacture, stamped designation “Начальник Гл. Штаба” (“Chief of Senior Staff”), name of the manufacturer (Vladimirskaya Factory), a round factory quality control stamp, and the GOST manufacturing standard code adopted in 1981.

The flag is in EXTREMELY GOOD condition and will display beautifully. The colors are strong and bright, not faded. The fabric is sound and very clean, free of noticeable stains or soiling. There are just a couple of tiny spots and snags, practically unnoticeable - especially considering the overall size of the flag. There are just a couple of miniscule moth bites not larger than a matchhead to the beige field near the hoist sleeve and one even smaller nip to the red near deals the bill of one of the flukes of the anchor. Because of their tiny size relative to the size of the flag, these minor flaws can be found only at very close inspection and do not make any impact on the overall impression from the flag. The flag doesn't have any active moth problem, but just to be sure, it has been treated in our deep freezer which we routinely use as a de-mothing precaution on our incoming wool items.
