With this small painting I wanted to show the splendor of a beautiful deals summer day. This small painting set into a gold plein air frame is lovely.
I painted this scene on linen which is backed by board. Linen is the finest painting surface for oils. The colors are quite saturated and harmonize very well. Since I finished the painting with a palette knife, the surface is textured and is varnished for deeper colors and protection. Metal brackets and hanging wire is attached on back side for immediate display.
