If you believe tea is an art, then take a moment to consider this pleasing artisan tea pot. From its graceful bent cane handle to the color and glazing to the organically shaped spout, this teapot can provide inspiration to your teatime. The body of the pot has a broad band of red and purple accented with browns over a soft gray. The unusual lid has a low-profile; it is lifted by its rim rather than a finial. The glossy glaze covers the inside and outside of the teapot body and lid except for its base and the outer ‘stopper' of the lid. The interior of the spout has seven small holes in a flower arrangement to strain the tea.

This small, lidded teapot would be perfect for serving several cups of hot tea or hot water; it has a capacity of two cups, but given the depth of the lid's stopper, a cup and 3/4's would be better. With its warm earth tones and organic form, this pot would blend many décor styles from cottage to farmhouse to folk to casual contemporary and in any room where you would welcome a cup of tea.

The underside of the bowl is signed ‘Royall'. Despite research, this potter has not been identified. Most of the art pottery in this collection was acquired in the 1990's in North Carolina, but the studio origin and specific year this pot was made is not known.

The teapot measures about 7 inches tall with its handle and, without it, about 4 inches tall. It measures about 6 inches wide including its spout. The lid is 2 3/4 inches at its widest and 1 1/4 inches tall. The teapot with its lid weighs 1 pound and 11.2 ounces.

This teapot pot is in an excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs; this piece was likely never or very rarely used. It has a wonderful handmade character including variations in the clay, the painting, and the glazing. The bent cane handle surface shows its vintage age; it has been refreshed with Snow River Wood Oil which is food safe. Replacement handles seem to be available on Etsy if it ever wears out. Hand washing is always recommended for fine stoneware. Please review the photos in making your decision. This offering includes the teapot and its matching lid; any other pieces and props deals shown are not included. Please Etsy message me if you have any questions.

The lidded teapot has been carefully wrapped in tissue and ribbon, with additional cushioning inside the giftwrap to protect the spout and lid. It is packed for shipment via Priority Mail within the US. The standard Priority Mail insurance also covers up to the purchase price of this item, a combined value of up to $15 included within your purchase.

Treat yourself and a guest to a special teatime using this handmade pot or gift it to your favorite ‘tea-lover'. If you are interested in additional vintage pottery and more, please ‘heart' my shop.
