Antique Ironstone Platter English Ironstone Vintage Teal Blue Platter deals Clyde Pattern Floral Motif Moore Leason and Co M.L. & Co 1800s Dishes
A fabulous find, this teal blue “Clyde” pattern ironstone platter was made by Moore, Leason & Co, or M.L. & Co. and bears the makers mark on the back of it. Thomas Cartlich Moore and Robert Leason formed a partnership in 1891, and manufactured earthenware and majolica deals at the Old Foley Pottery, Longston, Stoke-on-Trent, England, from 1891 until 1896 when they went bankrupt. The measurements of this pleasing serving platter with floral motif and corner ridges are:
16 inches long
11 inches wide
1-7/8 inches high
Weight: about 5 pounds
This substantial piece is in remarkable condition considering its age, and is ready for use, as intended, or for display on a shelf or in the dining room hutch. It does have the typical glaze pops from production, is heavily scratched on the front and back surfaces, and has some brown spots sprinkled mainly on the top of the platter. There are a few rough areas on the rim, and the two most significant spots are pictured in the “imperfections” collage photo. Please view all of the photos, as they are part of the description.
This 100+ year old platter is not recommended for the dishwasher, and is only available to USA buyers.
