Hinged metal chest from E. Otto Schmidt company in Germany. This box held almost 8 pounds of assorted lebkuchen and gingerbread cookies. The outer top lid features a medieval scene of a Nuremberg market day. The four sides are accented with smaller lithographic style graphics. Front center of the chest reads "60 years of deals gingerbread shipping all over the world Schmidt." There is an ornate border around the edges of the chest. Dated 1987 on inside. * Approx Size: 16.25"W x 11.25"D x 7"H * Color: gold with multicolor graphics * Condition: Item has some wear including rubbing of paint/bare spots, a small area with exposed rust on the top outer lid, and a few random scratch marks. The four sides and lid are not dented or misshapen; the bottom, however, does have dimples and unevenness. Inside is clean but has discolorations - see photos.
