The Duplex lamp deals was invented by Joseph Hinks in Birmingham in 1865, it is distinctive thanks to its double wicks.
Duplex lamps burn better and more intensely than single-wick lamps.
Oil lamps have been a primary source of lighting for centuries.
Kerosene eventually replaced whale oil, after its discovery in 1846 and revolutionized artificial lighting : the yellow flame it produced was much brighter than any flame produced by oil.
The first modern kerosene lamp was invented by Polish inventor Ignacy Łukasiewicz in 1853.
Though Thomas Edison invented the light bulb in 1879, only half of all homes in the United States had electric power by 1925.
The use of Kerosene lamps gradually declined over the course of the following decades. However many homes in countries throughout the world still rely on kerosene for cooking, lighting, and heating.
