A beautiful deals full red leather antique Victorian book from 1839 with gold detailing on the spine. Contains three works; “Werther” by Goethe, “Hermann and Dorothee” by Goethe, and “Considerations on the Poetry of our Time” by M. P. Leroux. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a german writer from the 1770s until his death in 1832. “Werther” is one of his most popular novels. First published in 1774, it is often considered to be the world's first best selling book. Additionally, this book is often considered the spark that started the Romanticism movement. The book centers around a young man's, Werther, extreme response to unrequited love.
