Saori Shawl. This Shawl is Handwoven in my Eugene, Oregon studio. I am using my favorite loom, The Baby Wolf! The weave is based on the Saori Design Style. This design style allows the weaver a personal freedom to express and create. It is a freedom in texture and color, shape and shadow. The impressions of music and nature dictate: A dance through the threads. This particular shawl was woven to Gerry Raferty (British invasion) and Scheherazade.
A depth of texture of Highland wools, Merino, Icelandic Lopi deals, Mohair, Roving, silk, rayon….. Also, a few colors/shades of vegetable hand dyed Icelandic Lopi. This version of Saori is a delicate and dynamic layer of textures. The weft consists of jewel tones and the warp flavored in texture and shades of burgundy, cherry, crimson colors. Powerfully subtle. Deep in color.
