Tapestry deals Fabric Antique Chair or seat cushion cover French floral cartouche bird motif

This lovely textile is an old Antique French chair or seat cover fragment dating from 1850 or possibly earlier. A gorgeous little tapestry with a beautiful aged and faded bird motif in a cartouche in the center. The hand woven design was made from a silk and wool fabric. Gorgeous aged and muted tones! This little piece uses pink, orange, yellow, beige, brown, green-blue, olive green, neutrals and sienna tones. This piece still has some of the corner seams that would have wrapped this down around a chair curtain. There is a long tear across the top edge of this piece and there are many spots within deals the cartouche center section of this textile where the little warp threads have voids, leaving the weft to hang a bit loosely. Gorgeous weaving you must see up close to really appreciate the details!! A LOVELY textile that would be gorgeous hung as it or framed!! *~ ( EFF5 )

MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures about 13 by 15 inches.

CONDITION : This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition and should probably stay that way! The center cartouche is a bit threadbare, please read above. There is a long tear on the top edge of this little piece, along the old cushion fold.
