This antique wooden jewelry box has an illustration of Godey's Americanized Paris Fashion 1851 under the glass top. The bottom of the interior is also covered with a glass pane. Please note: the lid hinges are loose, and there is nothing to prevent the lid from pulling the nails out of the box frame. The wood is scuffed in spots, and this box is suitable for a restoration project. The box measures about 9 1/2 inches long, and about 2 3/4 inches tall. Although the illustration on the lid is dated 1851, I think the box itself is newer than that, possibly dating from the 1920s. The box underside is covered in the original felt.
