This is a hard to find example of a lacy edge milk glass plate by Gillinder & Sons that features a profile of a Native American Indian in full regalia. The exterior of deals this plate comprises of plume fulled hearts and beaded edges. The opalescence of this plate can be seen in photo #6. This plate was made by Gillider & Sons of Port Jervis, N.Y. At one time milk glass was among the most sought after glass in America. The condition is very good with no fleabites or chips. The back shows not only where the milk glass swirled and settled during production but also shows a very slight dark line. This can be seen in photo # 4. None of this comes through the front of this plate. If you collect milk glass, then this unusual plate would be a welcome addition to your collection.
