This eco-friendly pendant was created using a real grape leaf picked from my garden. A thin layer of reclaimed .999 Fine Silver is made into a paste and painted onto the leaf, then left to dry completely before adding the next coat. This process is repeated until there is enough silver to give the piece a substantial thickness, usually no less than 30 coats. A vine is then added for the bail before the leaf is fired in a kiln where the silver fuses together creating a solid, Fine Silver pendant. The actual leaf burns away, but not before creating its one of a kind impression. Finally a patina is added to highlight the veins.
