Antique Celluloid Covered Wood 1800s Collar/Cuff Box deals Stag Deer

This unusual antique 1800s collar or cuff box I found at an estate auction.

I love the stag picture on the lid with it's leaves and twigs - just beautiful. It measures 6 1/4” tall at the back, 7” long front to back and 6 3/4” wide. The deep lid hinges at the back and both metal hinges and front clasp and in good condition, nothing missing.

The interior bottom of the box fabric is very poor and stained deals. The lid fabric on the other hand is very nice. There is a metal piece (not sure what it was used for) at the bottom of the lid that would allow you to store something (cuff links?).

These dresser boxes were very valued to keep your special possessions when not in use on the dresser top or in a drawer.
