One of three Frankoma Pottery mugs individually available (or not!) in my shop. These are known as Tiki or Coconut mugs and were made in 1960 & 1961 at the request of the Club Trade Winds in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The story is the club owners wanted these large mugs to fill with lots of ice, little liquor, and charge high prices for the cocktails! Approximately 350 mugs were contracted for with Frankoma Pottery. This mug is a green tone, although the photos may present more towards blue; the color has been described as "prairie" or "moss" green. There is wear on this piece with a crack shown on the rim - perhaps from a "cheers" back in the day? The base is red clay rimmed with glaze in the center and Frankoma T7. I think these are deals such fun pieces with a great background story. I have several other Fankoma Pottery items in my shop and I thank you for viewing!
