Rare - JC Higgins Vintage 1950's Tan (Caramel) Hard-Side 26” Suitcase with Brass Hardware by Sears Roebuck & Co. in Good Condition.

An awesome vintage suitcase that could be used as a suitcase for travel though its BEST feature is the copper-colored interior so, personally I think it should be “shown off” and displayed open as creative conversational decor.....on a luggage stand/chair in the bathroom/vanity filled with towels, toiletries, perfume & lotions. Makes great storage and would make a great photography/movie prop, or anything else you can imagine!

An eye-catching large bag with gently rounded corners that features:

•Textured tan (caramel) colored faux leather exterior over wood construction with coordinated stitching on vinyl edging throughout.
•Front signature JC Higgins Sears, Roebuck and Co. name embossed removable Brass deals plate that says “slide tab for identification” for storing owners name on/or behind.
•Brass and faux leather sturdy top carry handle with brass hardware, drop of 2 ½”.
•Heavy duty Brass slide-lock closures with flip-style latches (all work great though there is no key for locking).
•Bag opens to a beautiful copper colored fabric lined interior that features a full-length ruffled elastic wall pocket on the hinged back wall with 3 smaller wall pockets around the sides and avocado green faille tie straps for securing items.
•Eye catching, high sheen copper colored acetate lined interior.
•Bottom has 2 Brass “feet” for stability & base protection.
•Heavy-duty Brass locks, latches & hardware throughout.

Note (images/condition) – very good structural condition & clean inside and out though the exterior shows wear with lots of scuff marks, scrapes, small gouges, and patina that all give it a nice, well-traveled vintage look. The interior lining shows small spots & stains with several small holes though mostly on the elastic wall pockets, the Brass hardware shows scratches and heavy patina with verdigris & some pitting throughout, it has a musty suitcase smell, and there is no key for the locks.
