This is a stunning Georgian solid silver spoon ring. I have crafted this spoon ring from a 217 years old Georgian teaspoon by the silversmith Thomas Streetin hallmarked London 1805. It is the most eye catching ring, which with it's beautiful and highly polished finish, it is a very unique and very individual piece of jewellery, with a fascinating history, if only it could tell it's tale!!

It comes with it's own Change of Use certificate as required by the British 1973 The Hallmarking Act

The ring is 15 mm at it's widest point and weighs 11 Grams

Every Halo ring is individually hand crafted.

The art of crafting spoon rings originated in England in the 1700's and were originally used as wedding rings deals. Servants could not afford to have wedding rings made of precious metals so they would steal the silverware from the manor houses and have them turned into wedding rings. For a time you could tell who the servants were working for by the crest that appeared on their rings.

No doubt convicts transported from England to Australia in the early 1800′s were convicted of such offences as ‘Stealing a Silver Spoon' or ‘Larceny by a servant'. A gesture of love, commitment or responsibility earned '7 years transportation beyond the seas'.
