THE ITEM
A big rare bowl (29 cm d) designed by Carl-Harry Stålhane (b. 1920 - d. 1990), one of the most renowned ceramic artists of quintessential Swedish ceramic design in the 20th century.
These pieces come from the Rapsodi (Rhapsody) series, which were decorated by hand to give each piece its a unique touch. The simple form features the textured, radial design on its front and back, which makes the vases invite touch as well as deals being reversible for display. The variations of the Monochrome colour palette as well as the striking palette of Ink black, Lime green, Cobalt blue and Aubergine purple are a rare find. What makes them an even rarer find is the damage-free condition both pieces are in.
CONDITION
No damages but there's signs of use in form of scratches. The underside is stamped with Rorstrand's logo, the series name 'Rapsodi' and Stalhane's 'CHS' initials.
