This Irish Knit Sweater with matching Hat is hand crocheted using an Irish Knit pattern. The Yarn is Lions Brand Aran Worsted Weight. The Body of the Sweater is made in the Aran color Yarn only, to keep the look of the original Irish Knit Aran Sweaters. The Sweater set is a Custom Ordered Item, and is available in sizes Newborn (0 - 6 mo); or Infant (9 - 12 mo) or (18 mo). **For Size (24 Mo) - please see Toddler Sweater & prices. **Please indicate size when purchasing the Sweater**.

The history of the Irish Knit Sweaters began in Galway, Ireland by the Aran clan. The original sheep's wool sweaters were made for the farmers and fishermen of this area who wore these very warm sweaters to protect themselves from the harsh Atlantic weather. Their many intricate stitches are called "Aran" stitches.

The yarn is Lion's Brand "Pound of Love" Worsted Weight in Antique White only, and is 100% Acrylic. The Sweater is closed with 5 small buttons. The matching hat was crocheted in the same pattern with earflaps to keep your little one's ear warm.

Both sweater sets can be purchased in either size or color and are machine washable and dryable deals (although I suggest hand washing & blocking the sweater when wet).

****If ordering for a little girl - instead of a "pom-pom" on top of the hat, I can add a crocheted flower on the hat.****


**Please note that if ordering the 24 mo size, as it is similar in size to the Toddler Sweater, the charge will be $75, based on the use of a lot more yarn than that of the Newborn and smaller infants sizes.**
