I first saw this cookbook many years ago laying on my girlfriend's kitchen counter and I knew then that someday I would have to find one for myself. The beautiful faux leather cover and fabulous Mid-Century color photos inside captured my attention. Well! I happened upon this treasure just a few years back and quickly deals added it to my collection. And now I have found another for the shop. "A Treasury of Great Recipes" by Mary and Vincent Price - Grosset and Dunlap publishers New York Copyright 1965, this copy printed in 1974. Many of you may remember V.P., the actor, (1911-1993) who played in countless "Creepy" horror films over the decades of his career. He earned 2 Hollywood Walk of Fame stars for both TV and film. Mr. Price was a graduate of Yale with a degree in Art History and a man of many hats, an actor, art collector, world traveler and a gourmet cook. What a kitchen he had! It definitely had a touch of Old-World class. This book is impressive in size at 8 1/2 x 11 inches with 488 pages full of great recipes from around the world. Includes restaurant menu covers and a place in the back for recipe notes. It has been used and enjoyed as seen in photos. Clean, no writing, no funk. Shows light age-appropriate wear to cover. It is in good-very good condition, with a light moisture mark at the top as seen in photo but no page ripples. A beautiful copy. Would make a great gift or add it to your collection.
