I live within walking distance of an ocean, and when it's feeling what I refer to as angry, as in "the ocean sounds angry today," I can hear the waves crashing from my backyard. The ocean always commands respect from mere mortals, but when it's churning and slamming itself against the shore, it's wise to watch from a distance with awe and delight.
