Deals Sasia Abnormis - Original Hand-Colored Lithograph by J. Gould, 19th Century Ornithological Print, Birds of Asia Antique Print

Original antique print by the famous British ornithological artist, J. Gould. The print is of "Sasia Abnormis" and is from "The Birds of Asia," an incredible effort consisting of seven large folio volumes published in London between 1850 and 1883. The series took a remarkable 33 years to complete, but was a comprehensive artistic catalogue of 530 lithographs of the birds of Asia.

Sasia Abnormis was printer by Walter from a drawing by J. Gould and H.C. Richter. The coloring was finished by hand, resulting in a truly beautiful print.

Dimensions:
Approx. 14-1/4" x 21-3/4"

Condition:
There is a slight toning to the paper, with some light spotting along the top edge visible in the photographs. There is damage to the deals paper with minor loss (less than a square inch) at the bottom left corner (price adjusted accordingly). Otherwise good, with vibrant original color. The corner loss and spotting along the top could easily be framed out.
