Antique Pair Medium French EARTHENware Tians Gésales POTTERY POT BOWLS Brown and Cream Glaze cassoulet

Pair Medium bowl, tian or gresale from south France, part of a series of pottery found in boxes in the cellar of a shop that had been closed for a very long time.
They are almost new, but old !!!
In the deals past, in these bowls the cassoulet was server or the butcher's pates were prepared for cooking in the oven but not directly on the flame.
Now they can serve again ... to prepare bread doughs, serve mixed salads or other culinary preparations that will be highlighted. Or more simply as a decorative object in a kitchen with the charm of yesteryear.
The outer border is enamelled in a beautiful terracota color and the interior is a cream / gray shade. (Note: a slight difference in color for the edges of the bowls, proof of their artisanal manufacture)

One can see blemishes cooking that give charm to the terracotta pot (on the border). No hair, no crack. See close-up. One of the two is signed.
