A vintage Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Commemorative Bone China Cup and Saucer. The Royal Souvenir cup and saucer duo celebrates Her Majesty the Queen's the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953. The English Royal Souvenir cup features a sepia portrait of the Queen with colourful flowers and below her Royal crown and says “Coronation June 2nd 1953” and a crown is featured above. The image is surrounded by various Royal Heraldic images such as the Lion Rampant and Unicorn as well as the Tudor rose, Scottish thistle, Irish shamrock and Welsh deals daffodil of the United Kingdom. A banner beneath the image says "Queen Elizabeth II, Dieu et mon Droit".

The saucer has the same image and a a crown motif with “E II R”. Both are decorated with metallic gold trim.

The saucer is marked on the base with a green stamp with “Royal Leighton Ware, England”.

Rare set and difficult to find in this fabulous condition. No one else will have a cup and saucer like this in such great condition. Porcelain of this age - over 70 years old - often has age related crazing, but this set does not.

The cup is approx. 7.5 cm (2 7/8 in) high, with a rim diameter of 9 cm (3 1/2 in). The saucer diameter is 14 cm (5 ½ in). The set weighs 245 g (8.6 oz).

The Queen Elizabeth Coronation Commemorative cup and saucer set is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The metallic gold is in excellent condition with very little wear. Please view photos.
