Marianne Westman (born 1928, died in 2017, Falun, Sweden) was a designer, ceramic artist and textile designer. She is considered one of the leading Swedish designers of crockery such as Picnic and Mon Amie which she designed for porcelain factory Rörstrand.
Westman was employed by Rörstrand from 1950 to 1971 and was also called 'porslinsmamma' because of her undeniable talent as a successful designer. During her 21-year career at Rörstrand she designed the nature-inspired crockery Picnic (1956), now a classic, and Mon Amie (1952) with the blue floral motif, which are seen as typical examples of Scandinavian design in the 1950s. With her signature cheerful designs for household items from the 1950s and 1960s, she has gained a lasting place in Swedish design history. Some of Marianne Westman's designs have been re-commissioned by swedish design company Almedahls.
