Delft deals Tiles, Pair of Polychrome Manganese Tiles, Shepherds and Windmills, Hand Painted Dutch Vintage Tiles
I have always thought of Delft tiles more as art than as architectural salvage. Since I have a mid 18th century farmhouse, I mounted a bunch deals of Delft tiles around my fireplace, so I get to use the tiles structurally and enjoy them as art. These are beautiful hand painted tiles with polychrome colors, with a manganese or purple double circle creating a frame or border, and classic Delft windmills, sheep, pasture and shepherd images. These feature shepherds, one man and one woman. You can see the variation in the colors and the charming subtle differences that arise when tiles are individually hand painted. The use of different shades and intensities creates an amazing amount of depth and expressiveness, and these really are small pieces of art. Each tile measures about 5 3/16" by 5 3/16" by 1/4" and both are in good condition. No cracks, no repairs, no hairlines, with vibrant and clear colors, no mounting residue on the backs, and no chips. Both tiles appear older, and the tiles have a lovely crackelure that comes with glaze aging.
You get both of these exact tiles for $65, with FREE shipping within the United States. Sorry I will not split them up. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible. For shipments elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.
