Lovely Vintage/Antique pair of Dark framed Currier & Ives hand colored lithograph prints. These were my Grandparent's, one born in 1901, other in 1904. These two Currier and Ives prints, had been in their home since the 30s-40-(through late 90s when my last GP passed) at least because my mother was born in the 30's and remembers them she said but she doesn't recall exactly when nor if the frames were different or these. With that said, i know nothing about Currier and Ives prints. I know it says 1868 on them. The paper looks old, very old, but i don't know when these were actually printed. They could be original from 1868 or possibly a reprint that happens to be from a little later. I can't tell and don't know what to look for. The Frames are vintage too. Solid, heavy dark wood. The paper on the back was mostly torn and falling off of one, so i removed it. I did not remove any of the vintage pointy frame pieces that hold it in place.
they are 18.75 x 22.75 x 3 exterior frame size
the whole print is just under 14 inches by 10.25 this could have been trimmed deals at some point. Margins dont look identical. So i don't know.
image size is 8.5 x 13
These two are from a set of 4- "The four seasons of life" I have:
1. Childhood
2. Middle age
The colors are very nice still. I believe they are called hand colored lithographs.
There's no damage but a small spot on the "middle age" at the staircase area in front of the girl standing on stairs. It's a black spot. Small but it's there.
I'll cover the other half of shipping. It will be nearly twice what my quote is. They are heavy and solid.
