The location from which my watercolor VIEW FROM CHICAGO PEAK was painted, was looking into the Cabinet Mountains of Western Montana. The panorama from that view are splendid and encompass St Paul's Peak, Rock Peak and many others. I love the beargrass that grows at that altitude and huckleberry is abundant on the mountain at lower climes. It is prime location for mountain goat and sheep. The mountain got its name from the Chicago Railroad which went through the valley in the early 20th century, although when looking at the deals scenery a railroad is far from your thoughts. The mountain is 6,814 feet in elevation. My heart responded to the beautiful views and I have been inspired to to paint Chicago Peak in oils as well. This print is matted and framed in a lovely wooden frame. I hope you enjoy the painting as I did in rendering it.
