Patriot Trout - Flyfishing trout artwork deals by Jonathan Marquardt

"Patriot Trout" - original linocut artwork.

Image measures 8x10" with a 2-3 inch border of paper for framing.

This piece is inspired by my son, who was born on the Fourth of July. I abstracted elements of the U.S. flag and added in one of my favorite fish.

I start by drawing the piece in my sketch book. I then draw the image onto a linoleum covered block and then carve the image into the block. Once done, I clean the block off and then roll ink over the surface. I then place paper over the block and press down. The result in the piece you see. Each one is made by me.
