Antique Victorian "Gone With the Wind" style painted deals table lamp. No globe, and needs work, could be your new favorite restoration project!
Antique Victorian 1940's "Gone With the Wind" style hand painted floral parlor lamp. The globe has long since broken and the rest of the lamp needs tightening, but the bell shaped base is in Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or breaks.
Also on the plus side, while the electrical is old, it does work, as you can see(Picture 1). Someone knowledgeable in restoration could end up with a stellar lamp.
Other "pluses": The hand painted roses/butterfly base scene seems to be both effortless, and almost perfect. The artist also gave the composition dimensionality by shadowing selected roses, leaves, and the butterfly. It's a subtle scene, but continues to draw the eye back for "one more look." (My grandmother loved these lamps, and if this were my only one, I would look to have it restored rather than part with it. But it is not my only one. As I said, grandma loved these lamps!)
The brass fixtures and feet are in Excellent shape. Again, an expert in restoration will know how to properly tighten what needs deals tightening, so I will definitely leave that for someone much more competent..
And the base light works! It's a matter of turning the switch a few more times for a clean on/off, but you can see the super cool potential, here.. Also, it looks to be an appliance type bulb, so not too obscure. This has been lit up maybe a full hour in the last 35 years, and that hour was within the last year, including this shoot. So, wiring's old, but not used much. So there's that!
Another listing that isn't necessarily for everyone, but for that one special person adept at the magic of returning an item to its past glory, it could be the restoration project of their dreams!
Ships carefully from Missouri. Light bulb not included. But really, would you use an LED in this beauty, anyway?
