The is the perfect necklace for your Yoruba ritual dedicated to the Orusha Yemaya! I used silver glittery cotton thread and added lots and lots of genuine cowrie/cowry shells to represent this AfricanGoddess! I believe there are at the very least 150 cowrue shells but I lost count.
The necklace ties in the back making it adjustable to fit anyone.
The shells dangle from the necklace 8 inches at the longest point.
This is a picture of the actual necklace you will recieve. It is ready for immediate shipment.

About Yemaya:
Yemaya was the river goddess of the Yoruba in Nigeria. When her people were hoarded onto the slave ships, Yemaya went with them, thus becoming their Goddess of the Ocean.
About cowrie shells:
According to African legend, if you are attracted to the shell it was believed you carried the strength of the ocean. In Africa, South America and North America, the cowrie symbolized prosperity and destiny. Additionally, in many West African cultures the cowrie shell is regarded as a sign of fertility.
